Ni Hao , Kai-Lan

Ni Hao, Kai-Lan is a children’s animated television series that is airs on the Nickelodeon and Nick Jr.  Ni Hao is Mandarin Chinese for “Hello” in English.  Kai-Lan is an Asian little girl that goes on different adventures with her animal friends.  Along with teaching kids basic preschool skills, she also teaches words in Mandarin Chinese.   Kai-Lan speaks both English and Mandarin Chinese.   Kai-Lan also learns from YeYe, paternal grandfather in Mandarin Chinese.  YeYe gives advice to Kai-Lan and her friends Rintoo, Tolee, Hoho, and Lulu always have lots of fun with each other.

Ni Hao, Kai-Lan is sometimes referred to as the Chinese version of Dora the Explorer.  There are many similarities between the two shows, and who would not want to get pointers from the huge franchise of Dora the Explorer.  Like Dora, Kai-Lan introduces preschoolers to a different culture and language.  Both animated girls are interactive and spend time going on adventures.  One thing that is different is that Kai-Lan spends a lot of time with her YeYe.  No matter what their similarities or differences may be, Ni Hao Kai-Lan and Dora the Explorer are preschool favorites.
